Book about the 509th Composite Group-First Atomic Bombardment. A wonderful book detailing the history of the 'atomic bombers' and signed by many of the leading heroes of the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. Signed by Paul Tibbets as C.O. 509th GP 1944-45 and Pilot B29 Enola Gay 6 Aug. 1945-an extraordinarily unusual form of signing for Tibbets. Also signed by Richard Nelson, 'Dutch' Van Kirk, Charles Sweeney, Donald Albury and Morris Jeppson in the format illustrated in the above image.Very unusual to find this book signed in this manner by Tibbets as well as so many of the leading heroes of this group. Book in excellent condition as is the signature page.
