just been made that Hemingway had been awarded the 1954 Nobel Prize
for Literature, "Time" Magazine immediately assigned its
top writer, Robert Manning, to do a cover-story interview of Hemingway.
Manning visited the writer in Cuba, then corresponded with him on
particular points to finish the article. In this letter, Hemingway
responds to questions posed by Manning, including outstanding content
