NEW- The Great Artiste. This offering is a color 8 in.x 11.5 in. photo of the plane that was initially designated to be the second strike plane for Nagasaki. Th plane actuually flew the Nagasaki mission as The Instruent Plane. For several weeks after the second bomb was dropped it was being reported by the media as having been the plane that dropped the second atomic bomb. This photo is signed by eight of the crew all of whom flew the Nagasaki mission including Fred Bock (of Bocks Car fame) as Plane Commander and Lawrence Johnston who signed as Scientific Yield Observer, Aug. 6 and 9, 1945. Johnston was the only man who witnessed the detonation of all three atom bombs (he was also present at the Alamagorda, NM test). Fred Bock's autograph is very scarce and is sought after by collectors of this era because it is immortalized by the name of the plane Bocks Car. Price: $795.00

Charles H. Dow (1851-1902). American economist and publisher along with Edward D. Jones (1856-1920) established Dow Jones & Co. (1882), a publisher of financial news. In 1889 he founded the Wall Street Journal. Scarce Partly-Printed Bond Signed twice "Charles H. Dow" on the verso as Trustee. In very good condition. $1,950.

Alexandre Dumas, fils (1824-1895). Son of Alexandre Dumas, père, who followed in his father's footsteps becoming a celebrated author and playwright. Exceptional Content Autograph Letter Signed, in French, seven pages, octavo (recto/verso, cross-folded), "Les Salles -Neuves par Montcresson" imprinted stationary. While in Loiret, Dumas replies to a librettist, critiquing the interpretation of one of his father's novels, the 1843, Le Chevalier d'Harmental (The Knight of Harmental). 'd'Harmental was one of the first large historical novels of Dumas, père. The younger Dumas focus's on the dramatic and structural weaknesses of the libretto in explicit detail. $1,200.
