Edward T. 'Eddie' Collins (1887-1951). Legendary Baseball Player, Hall of Fame (1939). Had over 3,000 hits and a career .333 average. His scouting helped the Red Sox acquire Ted Williams and Bobby Doerr.
 
Document Signed, being an official "Uniform Agreement for the Assignment of a Player's Contract to or by a Major League Club", dated June 10, 1944. The contract was between the Columbus Baseball Club, Inc., and the Boston American League Baseball Company, i.e., the Boston Red Sox, for Francis J. Barrett, "In consideration of payment of Twelve Thousand Five Hundred ($12,500.00) Dollars cash, and the outright assignment of the contract of Player Stanwood Partenheimer." Boldly signed: "Edward T. Collins" for Boston, and "Al Banister" for the Columbus Baseball Club.
 
Document shows normal aging and handling, staple in upper left corner, dated stamped "Received Office of the Baseball Commissioner" June 19, 1944. $950.
