Dorothy Stratten [Dorothy Ruth Hoogstraten] (1960-1980). Model, Actress, and Playboy Playmate of the Year, (1980). On the cusp of stardom and acclaim, she was tragically murdered by her estranged husband on August 14, 1980. She has grown to legendary status in the genre.

 

Exceptionally Scare Photograph Signed, being an 8 in. by 10 in. black and white publicity portrait by Crown International Pictures for her debut film, Galaxina. Boldly signed: "Love- Dorothy Stratten". The names of the stars are printed along the bottom white margin.

 

Stratten actually appeared in three movies, Skatetown USA (1979), Americathon (1979), Autumn Born (1979), before Galaxina, which was her first feature film. Her final movie, They All Laughed (1981), finished production just before her death (It was also the last theatrical motion picture in which Audrey Hepburn played a lead role). Stratten's signed items are exceptionally rare and considered one of the scarcest celebrity signatures of the 20th Century. Minor crease on upper left blank corner, no other visible nicks or wear. In very fine condition, and ideal for framing.
