Clint Eastwood (b.1930). Academy Award Winning Actor, Director. Very Attractive Photograph Signed, being a black and white bust portrait from the classic Western, Pale Rider (1985), measuring approximately 7 in. by 5 in., no place or date, but circa 1980s. Boldly signed in black felt tip: "Clint Eastwood". Long identified with the Western genre, Eastwood has redefined the traditional image of the American cowboy in film during the course of his career. Pale Rider was no exception. The film carried on the tradition of the Sergio Leone epics of the 1960s in which Eastwood established his trademark role as the mysterious "man with no name." The 1985 film's symbolic references to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as the rider of a pale horse is Death, was played out in a small community of miners terrorized by a ruthless landowner intent on stealing their claims. In this movie the "man with no name" character dresses and behaves as a preacher, who appears one day out of the ethereal. He behaves reasonably enough in the beginning of the story, and only shows his true ability as a gunfighter in the end, when forced to avenge and resolve the conflict through violent means. Photograph shows very minor surface wear and a barely noticeable crease on the lower right border. Overall in very good condition. $150. |
