Dwight Eisenhower (1890-1969). Ike was a General of the Army (five star general) in the United States Army and U.S. politician, who served as the thirty-fourth President of the United States (19531961).

During the Second World War, he served as Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in Europe, with responsibility for planning and supervising the successful invasion of France and Germany in 1944-45. In 1951, he became the first supreme commander of NATO.He was one of three theater commanders and one of few men to achieve 5 star rank.
Eisenhower was elected the 34th President as a Republican, serving for two terms. As President, he oversaw the cease-fire of the Korean War, kept up the pressure on the Soviet Union during the Cold War, made nuclear weapons a higher defense priority, launched the Space Race, enlarged the Social Security program, and began the Interstate Highway System.The breath and depth of his contributions gains more and more respect as time passes
This offering is a typescript of the Oath of Office as President of the United States. It is on plain white paper that is 6 in x 9 in and it is signed Dwight D Eisenhower as shown, n.p, n.d. but probably circa early 1960's.
A photograph of Ike's swearing in as President will be provided with the oath for use in creating a framed display.
