Ernest Hemingway (1889-1961 ). One of America's greatest writers. he was a war correspondent in the Spanish Civil War and that experienced influenced his life and work forever thereafter. The major historical figure in that war was Francisco Franco (1892-19717) the national Hero of Spain. Franco became head of the Army and Spanish military leader.
