The 8 in x 10 in color photograph shows Gerald Ford being sworn in as President of the Unuited States by Chief Justice Warren Burger. The photograph is signed by both Gerald Ford and Warren Burger.

This photograph marked some dark days for the nation since Ford became president after Richard Nixon was forced to resign as a consequence of the Watergate scandal.It appears that the solemnity of the occasion is manifested in Ford's demeanor that is captured in this photograph.

This is the only photograph of the swearing in we have ever seen signed by both Burger and Ford.
