Daniel Chester French (1850-1931). Famous American sculptor and friend of Ralph Waldo Emerson. A New Englander, French studied at MIT and in Europe and one of his first works that became famous was hisrendering of The Minute Man. By the end of his career many of his works were among the permanebnt collections of America's leading museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City but his work is also held in collections of many public and educational institutions..
