 Yuri
Gagarin (1934-1968). Russian Cosmonaut
and n April 12, 1961, became the first human to travel into space
(see Vostok 1). Cosmonaut Gagarin flew into space on April 12,
1961 at a speed of 17,000 mph lasting one hour and forty-eight
minutes in his Vostok space craft. This hero of the Soviet Union
was killed tragically in a training mission at 34 years of age.
His autograph material is highly sought after.

on verso with signature and inscription in Cyrillic and dated
1961 the year that he was the first man in space.

- Photgraph generally in good condition
with edge wear and corner bumps. In addition, there is a 1 and
1/2 in. tear in middle of top margin extending slightly into
the image and repaired on verso with tape without affecting main
part of image or signature.
