Robert T. "Bobby" Jones, Jr. (1902-1971). 'Bobby' Jones is one of the best known and most accomplished golfers in history. Jones-related material is avidly collected by golf aficionados. Among Jones's major accomplishments was winning golf's Grand Slam when he won the world's four major tournaments all in the same year. What is even more remarkable is the young age at which Jones achieved his greatness and that he remained an amateur player until he retired to return to his law practice. His life was cut short by syringomyelia, a degenerative disease of the spinal cord and that disease left him completely debilitated toward the end of his life.
