Thoedore Sorenson (1928-). Sorenson was special counsel to President Kennedy and he also served as a JFK's speechwriter. He was therefore one of the president's closest advisers. Kennedy called Sorenson "my intellectual blood bank." It is believed it was Sorenson who crafted the memorable phrase "Ask not what your country can do for you---", undoubtedly one of JFK's most enduring remarks.
