This offering is a 3.5 x 5 inch slip of light blue paper signed Yours Truly, A. Lincoln April 12th 1861. The signature is bold and the slip of paper is in overall good condition, but shows slight signs of aging. At 4:30 a.m. in Charleston, SC the Confederate batteries fired on Fort Sumter. This was the beginning of the Civil War and it occured on the 40th day of Lincoln's presidency. A chilling piece of history.
