| Richard M. Nixon (1913 1994). Nixon was the thirty-seventh President of the United States, serving from 1969 to 1974. He was also Dwight D. Eisenhower's Vice President (19531961). He is the only man to have been elected twice to the Vice Presidency and twice to the Presidency, and he was the fifth Republican President to be elected to two terms. Nixon is noted for his diplomatic foreign policy and moderate domestic policy, but he is also remembered as the first and only U.S. President to have resigned from office. Nixon was one of the most enduring political figures not only in American history but in the history of the world. There have been more books written about Nixon than about Napoleon. In this book Nixon urges The United States of America to set high goals for peace and stability and he argues that history had not ended, that America could not afford to withdraw into isolationism and that we, as a people, must take up the challenges ahead as the world's only superpower. Little did Nixon realize that, within nine years of the publication of this book, America would once again be drawn into a new world in which it would be in mortal combat with the irreconcilable arm of Islamofascism. There are probably are few of this particular book signed because Nixon died shortly after it was released. The book is signed To (name electronically obscured) with best wishes from Richard Nixon,n.p,n.d. but circa early 1990's. Published by Simon and Schuster (1992).Probably First Edition, later printing. The book is in pristine condition with an intact dust jacket.Price:$550.00 |
