Richard M. Nixon (19131994). Nixon was the thirty-seventh President of the United States, serving from 1969 to 1974. He was also Dwight D. Eisenhower's Vice President (19531961). He is the only man to have been elected twice to the Vice Presidency and twice to the Presidency, and he was the fifth Republican President to be elected to two terms. Nixon is noted for his diplomatic foreign policy and moderate domestic policy, but he is also remembered as the first and only U.S. President to have resigned from office. Nixon was one of the most enduring political figures not only in American history but in the history of the world. There have been more books written about Nixon than about Napolean. In this book described by one critic as having muscular thinking combined with Nixon's in depth understanding strategy. This book is about the Six Crises of his early career-The Hiss Case, The Fund,The Kitchen debate with Khrushchev, Ike's heart attack, Caracas and the 1960 campaign. His comments on the Hiss case are particularly prophetic. The book is signed and inscribed, Best, To (name electronically obscured) from Dick Nixon,n.p,n.d. but circa early 1960's Published by Doubleday.First Edition. The book is in excellent condition with an intact dust jacket.Price:$250.00 Note:This book has an autopen signature on the first blenk fly leaf as do all other Six Crises. The book often is offered for sale on ebay and elsewhere as a signed book when in fact that signature is machine generated. All of these books signed by Nixon that I have ever seen have also been inscribed by him-probably to differentiate the truly signed books froom the autopen only ones.Shown here is a photo of Nixon signing the book for Col Harwood. The photo was between the pages of the book and it was in an envelope addressed to Col Harwood. ![]() |
