Jack Nicklaus & Arnold Palmer
Item is SOLD

Jack Nicklaus (b. 1940) and Arnold Palmer (b. 1929). Legendary Golfers. Beautiful Photograph Signed, being a Satin-finish 8 in. by 10 in. photo of the two legends walking the fairway, signed in black felt tip, boldly: "Arnold Palmer" "Jack Nicklaus".

Nicklaus began his professional career in 1961 and his winning performance in major tournaments is as yet unmatched: three Players Championships, three Open Championships (1966, 1970 and 1978), four U.S. Opens (1962, 1967, 1972 and 1980), six Australian Opens (1964, 1968, 1971, 1975, 1976 and 1978), five PGA Championships (1963, 1971, 1973, 1975, and 1980), and six US Masters (1963, 1965-66, 1972, 1975 and 1986). In 1986, he became the oldest player to ever win The Masters.

Palmer's charisma was a major factor in establishing golf as a compelling television event in the 1950s and 1960s, setting the stage for the popularity it enjoys today. He is also credited by many for securing the status of The Open Championship (British Open) among US players. Before Palmer, relatively few American professionals attempted to play The Open due to its travel requirements, foreign environment, and the style of its courses (radically different from most American courses). Palmer's successive Open wins in the early 1960s convinced many American pros that a trip to Britain would be worth the effort. He has won seven major championships:The Masters: 1958, 1960, 1962, 1964; US Open: 1960; and British Open Championship: 1961, 1962.
