Diego Rivera (1886-1957). Legendary Mexican Artist. The leftist-oriented painter specialized in murals of native historical themes. He is best noted for his works at the Mexico City Presidential Palace and his "Man at the Crossroads" done in 1933 for Rockefeller Center but removed and sent to Mexico because one of the figures resembled Lenin.

A Unique Vintage Photograph of Rivera with a Signature and Inscription, being a portrait of the artist painting a mural, affixed to a card, measuring 6 in. by 5 in., dated 1940, and signed by the artist: "Diego Rivera, 1940, con mis saludos [with my greetings]."

Scarce in this format. Very light brushing to inscription, minor soiling. Signed while married to Frida Kahlo. Ideal for framing. $1,500.
