Robert H.W. Wech, Jr. (1899-1985). American industrialist and staunch anti-communist best known as founder of the John Birch Society.This book, a First Edition, details the life of John Birch who was an American missionary who was recruited into Army intelligence in China and was deemed to be the FIRST AMERICAN KILLED BY THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNIST MOVEMENT. He was killed when he attempted to negotiate with the forces of Mao Zedong who were driving into China from their northern readout. The Birch Society was named after this brave American patriot.The 'Birchers' as they became known were the object of scorn by America's elite. But, as it turns out, they were more right about the evil of communism and the danger it posed for the world than the American intelligensia. The book. a First Edition, is in excellent condition but shows normal aging and some foxing. The dust jacket is intact but the price is clipped.
