of the United States (1901-1909). One of the great figures
in American History. Among his many accomplishments he was
the first American and thus also the first President to win the
Nobel Prize, he was the first President to leave the country,
to appear in the newspaper,and the only president to be awarded
The Medal of Honor (post humously). The Roosevelts and the MacArthurs
are the only father-son winners of the MOH in our history. TR
was noted for his aggressive foreign policy and will long be
remembered for his "Speak softly and carry a big stick."
One washington wag once allowed that this phrase contrasted with
Jimmy Carter's motto "Speak stickly and carry a big soft.

at lower left. In very good condition, with allover light toning,
some damp staining to left margin and a few minor edge tears
