These balls were in use in the last three years of Johnson's term. Signed on the sweet spot: "Babe" Ruth.

The ball appears to have been game used, but is wonderfully and remarkably preserved, its surface, red-and-blue stitching and vivid stampings all display . The black facsimile signature, "BB Johnson," is particularly crisp-looking, and shines forth from its proper side panel. American League President and Hall of Famer Byron Bancroft "Ban" Johnson served in the office from 1901 to '27, and the patent stamping, "PAT'D. MAR. 17-25," dates this relic to the last years of his term and the height of Ruth's career. This is an incredible vintage AL ball, signed by, arguably, the most important personality in the history of the game. Signature rates a "5-6", intermittent scuffing and general aging.
