James A. Garfield (1931-1881). General, US Representative, and 20th President of the United States (1881). A Scarce House of Representative Check, signed by Garfield, Washington, D.C., dated March 25, 1874, accomplished entirely in Garfield's hand. Overall, in good condition. $1,850.

William F. 'Bull" Halsey (1882-1959). United States Navy Fleet Admiral who commanded the US Third Fleet during much of the Pacific War against Japan during World War II. Vintage Signature, on a 3 in. by 5 in. card, no place or date (but circa 1940s). $150.
 

John Hancock (1737-1793). Leader in the American Revolution, President of the Second Continental Congress, and First Signer of the Declaration of Independence. Ernest M. Hemingway (1899-1961). American Author and Nobel Laureate (1954). Document Signed Check, "Ernest M. Hemingway", one page, oblong, Ketchum, Idaho, February 27, 1961, months before his death. Partial Document Signed as President, on chain laid paper, being a small portion trimmed to 6.25 in. by 2.75 in., dated January 4, 1806, with printed text: "in the year of our Lord Christ" on upper margin, and nicely signed: "Th: Jefferson". $4,500. [John F. Kennedy] PT-109. Two First Day Covers Signed. A set of FDC's honoring JFK, the first issue, d. May 29, 1964, was signed by 7 crew members from PT-109; the second issue, d. September 7, 1968 was signed by 2 crew members from the Amagiri, the Japanese destroyer that sank PT-109. PT 109 was cut in two by the Japanese destroyer on August 2, 1943 in the Solomon Islands. Kennedy and his crew were rescued after Kennedy gave two natives a coconut shell on which he carved the following: NAURO ISL COMMANDER...NATIVE KNOWS POS'IT...HE CAN PILOT...11 ALIVE NEED SMALL BOAT...KENNEDY. A remarkable association relating to one of the defining moments of Kennedy's life. In fine condition. $1,000.

Lindbergh". The America First movement was an isolationist group that opposed United States involvement in World War II. $2,500.

George C. Marshall (1880-1959). Army Chief of Staff during World War II; Historic War-Dated Typed Quote Signed: "G C Marshall" as Chief of Staff, on card, 5 in. by 3 in. In full, "We are determined that before the sun sets on this terrible struggle, Our Flag will be recognized throughout the World as a symbol of Freedom on the one hand and of Overwhelming Power on the other." George McClellan (1826-1885). Union General, Commander of the Army of the Potomac. Known as "The Young Napoleon." Very Fine Signature and Inscription. Overall, very good. $495.
 

George G. Meade (1815-1872). Union General, Commander at Gettysburg. Choice Bold Signature, as commander of the Army of the Potomac. Rare in this form. $950.
 

Grand ma Moses (1860-1961). Legendary American folk painter. A Beautiful Signature on the verso on a personal "Grand ma Moses" postcard. $295.


Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The greatest British Naval Hero. Defeated Napolean's Navy and lost his life in the Battle Of Trafalgar, which the British won. A Very Choice Signature, "Nelson d Bronte", on laid paper, clipped from a document and affixed to an antique engraved portrait of the Admiral dressed in uniform. The engraving is by J. Cochran from a painting by J. Hoppner. Engraving dated 1835. A scarce and desirable signature, light residue, age toning, overall very good and ideal for framing. $2,300.


Lee Harvey Oswald (1939-1963). Assassin of President John F. Kennedy; Officer M. Nick McDonald, the man who fought, disarmed, and captured Oswald; and Detective James R. Leavelle, the man handcuffed to Oswald when he was shot by Ruby. A rare symbiotic chain of personalities intricately linked forever in history to that great tragedy in Dallas, on November 22, 1963— the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Extraordinarily Rare Signature Set, Signed by all three Men! A most unique piece of American history and surely the only one in existence. Choice. $7,950.
