17th, 1983, Cavendish, VT. The Russian writer and leading dissident
against the Soviet system, in exile, writes to a German schoolmaster
and his students. Translation reads in part: "
I regret that translations of my books appear in the German Language
with large errors, and also their quality is rarely satisfying.
Fortunately this does not concern the Gulag Archipelago.
