Very Nice Autograph Letter Signed, one page, large octavo, February 22, 1812, Newman Street [London]. Reads in part: "On account of the low condition of Mrs. West's health, I postponed until this time my answer through your hands, to the Master Warden -and the Fellows at Dulwick College, respecting my dining with them to morrow- in hopes that Mrs. West's heath might permit me having the gratification of being of the party to dinner, with these gentlemen. But the being from home on an evening as Mrs. West is at present will not permit of my absence you will therefore make my respects and thanks to Master Warden, and Fellows, how I am at present situated - or I would have the honour to wait on them… Yours with sincerity Benjm. West".

Boldly written in dark ink, with exceptional clarity, tipped to a larger leaf. A very desirable letter and fine example. In very good condition. $2,500.
